Creative Ability Development (CAD) is a method that uses improvisation as a tool to develop the creative side of the brain.
Dr. Sera Jane Smolen has taught CAD and used CAD in her teaching for many years. She co-authored the book Improvising String Quartets with Alice Kanack, the innovator of the method, and has just released Off the Page which takes student improvisors through changes of harmony and modulations in their improvisations.
In this workshop Dr. Smolen will bring us up to date on many of the new developments in CAD, share some of Off the Page as well as giving participants hands on experience with the method and materials
This workshop is open to teachers of any instrument. Please bring your instrument and plan to participate.
